Tips to Market Your Brick and Mortar or Digital Product Business Online
It’s not the easiest thing in the world to market online. Whether you are a small brick and mortar business or selling a digital product, without having the proper information in place, you can not possibly expect to market online unless you have:
A. The proper education or,
B. Someone to delegate the responsibility to.
Internet marketing is a specialized skill, as is anything in business.
If you wanted a gourmet meal, would you cook it yourself or, would you go to a restaurant that specializes in the type of meal that you want? Understanding this concept of specialized knowledge in business is crucial to your success. I’ve created a series of questions, that you can ask yourself, that will allow you to determine if you have enough knowledge to market your own business or, whether or not you need to find the education or the services.
Are you an internet marketer or a small business that needs marketing:
1. Do you have a website that promotes YOU and your product or service?
It’s obvious that a crucial component to marketing online is for you to have your own website. It is best to have a website that markets you and a seperate one that markets your product or service.
2. Do you have a blog and a network of Web 2.0 properties?
Web 2.0 is the element of interactive communication online today. A blog is crucial to the elements of traffic generation. Take for example this blog. There are software at work behind the scenes in this blog that allows me to reach out and pull traffic to my site. There are also software in place that will place content on the site when I simply don’t have the time to do it every day. Without knowing how to do this, as I have learned, your interactive marketing online is virtually dead.
3. Do you know how to get people to purchase your products or services without selling them on it?
Traditional business spends more time selling, than they do educating. The problem is, online you must communicate and build relationships through your media in order to have your media do the selling for you. If you come online pitching, you will be eaten alive by the virtual social communities that you spend your time in.
4. Do you have a marketing budget?
If you are about to market or do business online and do not have some sort of marketing budget in place, you are dead in the water. Where it is not crucial to pay for advertising on the internet, it is important to have all of the special software and outsourcing tools in place to delegate responsibility to. Eventually, if not immediately, you will also want to have a budget to outsource to others that do what you need done. Here’s why.
If you continue doing all of the work yourself online, you will find that there will be no such thing as time freedom. Outsourcing on the internet will allow you to get 80% more results, with as little as 20% of the effort on your part. In traditional business, you’d never attempt to do all of the work in your business, on your own; so then, why are you doing that online?
The questions above are simply scratching the surface. If you have a budget to outsource I currently leverage the professionals at eWeb Marketing Management. When I need to further my own education, in order to KNOW what needs to be in place in my marketing, as well as know exactly what to outsource to receive the highest return on investment, I get all of my education from my Internet Strategy Mentor at the World Entrepreneur Success Training Program, Bob Yeager ( CLICK HERE).
I hope this article has been helpful to you and that you can see the benefit of needing to know what to have in your education and your business to market effectively online.
