<h1>Competing with the Product Launch Gurus</h1>
<p>This is actually a fairly easy topic to discuss. When it comes down to competing with the Gurus on product launches, keep it simple. Simply don&#8217;t compete with them. In the internet <a class="zem_slink" title="Marketing" rel="wikipedia" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marketing">marketing</a> world we are inundated with offers in an ongoing effort to take, take, take from customers. This &#8220;Product Launch Fever&#8221; always seems to leave marketers with the question of how to compete.</p>
<p>Recently, I read a book titled &#8220;<a class="zem_slink" title="Blue Ocean Strategy" href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1591396190?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=lessonsoflife-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=1591396190">Blue Ocean Strategy</a>&#8220;. It&#8217;s strategies of creating uncontested market spaces was crucial in realizing that, instead of competing with everyone in my market head on; it is much more beneficial to myself and my company to create an uncontested market. This strategy was introduced to me in the WEST Program, where Bob Yeager actually shows you how to apply this to the internet marketing world.</p>
<p>Finally, realize this. If your <a class="zem_slink" title="Competition" rel="wikipedia" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Competition">competition</a> is launching online&#8230; do a bit of <a class="zem_slink" title="Advertising mail" rel="wikipedia" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advertising_mail">direct mail</a>. If they are launching a physical product at a high cost, you should launch a digital product at low cost. If they are only offering audios and an ebook, you could offer a membership program with videos. Always do the oposite of what they are doing, then simply stack the added value and bonuses to make your offer more valuable and compelling&#8230; while keeping prices at a reasonable rate.</p>
<p>Remember, during this &#8220;Product Launch Fever&#8221; you do not need to know how to compete, simply focus on doing what others are NOT doing&#8230; and remember that your prices can always raise, incrementally, over time. Your primary concern, when it comes to this topic is learning a system that works&#8230; not just the product launch stuff; and delegating the tasks from that system to the proper people, softwares or other systems. <h2>When you don&#8217;t track and test, you become the market instead of the marketer!</h2>
<p>It begins. You had a great idea for a product because you did a ton of market research. You paid all the right people to package the product into a down-loadable format and you even had a website built. You&#8217;ve been doing blog posts and <a class="zem_slink" title="Viral marketing" rel="wikipedia" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viral_marketing">viral marketing</a>, when you realize&#8230; you haven&#8217;t been split testing and tracking your sales page!</p>
<p>The failures of Internet businesses are heavily related to laziness. Tracking and split testing is boring, it can be tedious and it can consume alot of your time. I know, I&#8217;m continuously split testing and tracking my sales pages, opt in pages, emails, subject lines and anything else I can test.</p>
<p>Funny thing is, most marketers don&#8217;t realize that split testing and tracking are dead simple. Take a look:</p>
<p>First, install <a class="zem_slink" title="Google Analytics" rel="homepage" href="http://www.google.com/analytics">Google Analytics</a> and Google&#8217;s Website optimizer into your site pages. All of your site pages need to have this. Then, create two versions of your opt-in pages, two versions of your sales pages and two versions of your emails and subject lines.</p>
<p>Second, do keyword researched based upon the content of your web pages you have created, as well as what your market is continuously searching for. Be sure that these keywords show up at least 5% throughout each of your pages, in your headlines and your bullet points.</p>
<p>Now, do a bit of <a class="zem_slink" title="Pay per click" rel="wikipedia" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pay_per_click">PPC</a> <a class="zem_slink" title="Advertising" rel="wikipedia" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advertising">advertising</a>. Not so much that you are going to break your budget, just enough where you are sending 100 visitors to both of your opt-in pages, as well as both of your sales pages. We are not doing this to make a profit, just to test the sales pages to see which convert, if either, and the same with the opt-in pages.</p>
<p>When we see they convert a bit, we make one change to each of them at a time. Is the headline compelling with a call to action? If no, tweak it. Then, test again. Does your opt-in page have a video? No? Place a short 45 second video on there and send more traffic to it.</p>
<p>Test one opt-in page and one sales page with a video and another set without the video. Which converts better?</p>
<p>Once you reach a conversion where you are turning a hefty profit, chose the opt-in page and sales page that converts the best and scrap the other two. Now, simply run your traffic just to your op-tin page; whether it is PPC traffic or organic traffic.</p>
<p>Through split testing and tracking sales pages and opt-in pages (as well as open rates and click through rates on emails) we find what works the best. Too many people are rushing the process to make the quick buck. I like to increase my efforts in testing to make the big, long term and residual buck!</p>

<p>So what is it being replaced by? Take your pick. RSS feeds, social bookmarking sites, You Tube channel subscribers, social networking groups. The list can go on forever, but it&#8217;s actually <a class="zem_slink" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Direct_response_marketing" title="Direct response marketing" rel="wikipedia">direct response marketing</a> that is replacing the age old method of email marketing.</p>
<p>Why? Well, it&#8217;s always been proven that direct response and direct mail can have a more targeted focus when reaching a consumer. Many people think, &#8220;Well, it cost a fortune to do direct mail.&#8221; Not so.</p>
<p>Today, you can send letters for $1 or postcards for 50 cents. In <a class="zem_slink" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bulk_mail" title="Bulk mail" rel="wikipedia">bulk mail</a> it can be even more cost efficient. With print on demand companies and fulfillment centers, it gets even easier. The internet marketer who only focuses on one method of selling will lose over 80% of his or her business.</p>

<p>It&#8217;s really not, with the proper demographic research and the proper <a class="zem_slink" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lead_generation" title="Lead generation" rel="wikipedia">lead generation</a> system in place, you can quickly and easily merge your offline and online worlds to finally become a complete business.</p>

<p>Sure, it may seem odd to talk about organic gardening, dating and horse training for internet marketing, but there are too few people thinking outside the box when it comes to creating a profitable internet business. Basically, if an industry and need for a particular product or service exists online or offline&#8230; people on the internet are looking for it.</p>
<p>The problem is, most entrepreneurs who are marketing online are marketing incorrectly. So many feel that if you want to market to the make money market, then you have to market a make money product. Could I ask you a question? But, when I decided to work online, I quickly began to feel fatigue, a lack of color in my skin, I began to develop headaches and it doesn&#8217;t seem that I have as much energy as I used to.</p>

<p>Are you getting what just happened? I began to talk with you about internet marketing and then I revealed that I understand that maybe your energy and health are diminishing due to over exposure to your computer. You could probably almost feel it as I spoke to you. Then, I told you that I used to feel the same way until I found a solution.</p>
<p>That solution obviously has nothing to do with internet marketing&#8230; or dating, organic gardening and horse training, but it does have to do with health and stamina, which every human being in the world, including internet marketers, have a need to find a solution for.</p>
<p>By creating websites that are niche specific and knowing your prospects, you can easily sell products that are not industry specific, but do relate to basic human needs and desires. Your market will actually appreciate you for it, not to mention you can use PPC ads to send industry traffic to your blog, while having products on that blog that those people are not used to seeing.</p>
<p>Step outside your niche and provide people with unique solutions that others in their industry may not be telling them about. Get to know your market and the other products and services that are out there, besides the ones in your own niche industry.
